US Model 1852 Navy
Cadet Officer's Sword

This sword is the US Model 1852 Naval Officer's Sword with some minor variations. The major difference is the absence of a gilt pommel-cap; whether or not this was intentional, I cannot tell. It retains the Navy motif, and the "dolphin's" head on the quillon finial at the tip of the upper guard is present.
This example was presented as an "Alumni Association Award" to the "Outstanding Cadet Officer 1951"; this is engraved into the scabbard throat.
