Civil War Confederate "D-Guard Bowie" Knife

Civil War Confederate "D-Guard Bowie" Knife

This knife appears to have once been an early Naval Cutlass, cut-down to accomodate an individual as a side-knife.

It is very "Southern" in design having an iron "D-guard", bone handle; the blade is quality steel - having originally been a sword - and has a single fuller on both sides; typical "clip-point" Bowie style common to the South.

Scabbard is a an original issue military sword scabbard, cut-down to fit this knife, and is of the era between 1800 to the Civil War. It is made of leather (black) with brass throat and drag.
