Bavarian Model 1889 Officer's Degen, no scabbard
$150.00 $127.50 On Sale!
BAV1889OFFDEGNS002

Imperial German Bavarian Model 1889 Officer's Degen or straight sword from about 1889 to about WWI; unusual folding right and left knuckle-guards; single-edged, single-fullered blade; no visible maker's mark but the number 79 is tamped into the left ricasso.
Blade is ~30-3/4" in length; overall length is ~36-3/4". Etched into blade is the motto, "IN TREUE FEST" (both sides). Brown Bakelite grip.
This pattern of sword was also used by Bavaria, Prussia, Saxony, amd Wurttemburg - the only basic differences being the Royal Cypher/Heraldic Crest on the guard; this one is for Bavaria.

British Pattern 1821 Light Cavalry Trooper's Saber, no scabbard
$395.00 $316.00 On Sale!
1822BRITCAVNS001

This saber is in the style of a British Pattern 1821 Light Cavalry Trooper's Saber manufactured from the period of about 1821 to about 1853 in Britain and later in other countries; various modifications are known. Unmarked except for what appears to be perhaps a royal cypher that looks like a crown over the Roman numeral II on the right side of the blade about four inches from the hilt (I have not found any royal cypher that resembles this design so I believe it was intended to confuse). These style swords saw service service in the Crimean War and were also exported to a number of countries - including the Confederacy during the American Civil War.
Slightly curved single-edged blade with squared back-edge; single fuller (both sides), stopped at ricasso, and irregular in shape near and at ricasso. Fuller stops are uneven. These irregularities suggest 2nd quality manufacturing or perhaps Southern manufacture (I am researching this more).
Overall length is ~40-1/4"; blade length is ~34-3/4".
All steel construction with the exception of the wood grip (leather wrap is missing but most of the twisted brass wire remains; chip in grip at rear near pommel, see images). Fair condition overall.
NOTE: No Scabbard.

Very slightly curved single-edged blade with squared back-edge; single fuller (both sides), unstopped.
Overall length is ~35"; blade length is ~28-1/2".
All steel construction with the exception of the checked pressed leather grips.
Fair condition overall; grips are cracked blade is pitted overall.

Cutlass, Dutch Royal Marines, circa 1850, scarce
$785.00
ctlsdtchnvy001

This is believed to be a scarce (if not rare) Dutch Royal Marine Cutlass circa 1850, a variant of an earlier cutlass used by the Netherlands circa late 1700s early 1800s with a heavier fullered blade (see earlier cutlass at the UK National Maritime Museum).
Hilt is brass, simple D-guard with two side branches, forward swept upper quillon with barrel finial; wood grip with 20 grooves (longitudinal crack in grip from ferrule to pommel). Number "1" on underside of upper quillon.
Overall length is ~29"; blade length is ~23-1/4". Double-edged, straight blade, unfullered, spear-point tip. "Crown over T" stamped into blade at ricasso (see images).
Scabbard (incomplete) is black leather body with brass throat (I assume it had a brass drag).
Does not appear to be shortened or reduced in any way.
Good condition overall.
