1840-style Heavy Cavalry Saber, shortened, no scabbard

Model 1840 style "Heavy Cavalry" saber that has been shorted; unknown manufacturer.
Overall condition is about poor to fair as it has been shortened; one branch is missing from the guard; grips has been wrapped with solid wire that appears to be ferrous.
Overall length is ~28-1/4"; blade length is ~22-3/4".
NOTE: No Scabbard.


American Officer's Eagle-Head Sword, no scabbard

American Officer's Eagle-head Sword, circa 1820-1840. Appears to be a Widman eagle-head style pommel; brass furniture; twisted-brass-wire grip.
Overall length is ~34-1/2"; blade length is ~29-3/4". Fair to Good condition overall. German-made blade believed to be the work of Weyersberg of Solingen (king's head logo). Blade is dark oxide overall with moderate pitting over the last 6 or 7 inches of the blade (towards the tip).
NOTE: No Scabbard.


British Pattern 1853 Cavalry Trooper's Sword, no scabbard

This is a British Pattern 1853 Cavalry Trooper's Sword manufactured from the period of about 1853 to about the 1870s; various modifications are known. Unmarked except for what appears to be perhaps Turkish marks at the 90 degree point where the ricasso meets the guard on the reverse. These swords saw service service in the Crimean War and were also exported to a number of countries - including the Confederacy during the American Civil War.
Slightly curved single-edged blade with squared back-edge; single fuller (both sides).
Overall length is ~40"; blade length is ~34-1/2".
All steel construction eith the exception of the checkered black pressed leather grips and five copper retaining rivets. Good condition overall.
NOTE: No Scabbard.


Foot Artillery Short Sword, circa mid-1800s

Foot Artillery Short Sword of unknown origin, based on the neo-classical French Model 1831 Foot Artillery Short Sword (based on the Roman gladius). The United Sates of America patterned their US Model 1832 after this sword as did the Confederate States of America during the Civil War.
Solid brass hilt with what appears to be un-marked. Overall length is ~25-1/8""; blade length is ~19-1/8". Blade is un-marked.
Good condition overall.
NOTE: No scabbard.


Fraternal or Theatrical Dagger/Scimeter, C.E. Ward Mfg.

Very nice fraternal Scimeter (Scimitar) Dagger or Short Sword (could also be theatrical in nature); manufactured by C.E. Ward Company of New London, Ohio. Hilt furniture is brass; scabbard is black leather with copper throat, bands, and drag. Grip is solid cast brass.
Overall length in scabbard is ~20-1/2"; overall length out of scabbard is ~20-3/8"; blade length is ~15-1/2".
Very-good to condition overall.
