Original Indian Hide/Leather Shield, believed from middle to southern region, believed 19th century. Black in color, with four scarab-like bosses. No inner straps, but ringlets are there for affixing straps.
Shield is ~21-1/2" in diameter and is ~3" deep; leather is ~1/4" to 3/8" thick at the edges.
Overall condition is about good to very-good.
