The German Gewehr 98 Mauser was the standard German infantry rifle from 1898 to 1935 and saw service in WWI and WWII. This particular example was manufactured by C.G. Haenel, Suhl (this is an uncommom maker) and date-stamped 1916. Appears to be a matching number gun (bolt, barrel, butt-plate, floor-plate, sights, stock, etc.); ramrod is missing.
Internal 5-round box magazine, 7.92 x 57 mm Mauser caliber.
Good to very-good condition overall.
Used gun; not sold as a shooter; no warranty implied or given. Curio & Relic or FFL transfer only. Please have any gun you intend to shoot - in any fashion - checked by a competent gunsmith.
