Mexican Bowie Knife, No Scabbard, early-mid 1900s

1MEXBOWIENS001A

Bowie knife from Mexico. Aluminum hilt furniture with horn grips. Overall length is ~12"; blade length is ~7-1/2" including the ~3" clip point. Blade is etched, "Mexico" on one side and on the other displays a peasant scene with the wording (to the best of my ability to read), "AL MAL TIEMPO BUENA CARA" (basically translated to, "To Evil Time[s] [a] Good Face"). The ricasso is double-stamped "?PEREZ / MADE IN MEXICO" (this indicates post-1892 manufacture). Good condition overall.
NOTE: No scabbard.
