Original Cavalry Spur (single spur, not a pair) believed to be the M1911 manufactured circa WWI, brass without provision for rowel. Marked U.S. over W.L. on inner heel area, the number 1470 on the outside right. Spur is ~3-1/8" wide, ~5-1/4" long. Buckle is intact.
W.L. is for Whithorse Lecompte - a United States government contractor who made bits and spurs for the government circa World War One.
