French Model 1874 Gras Bayonet manufactured at the French arsenal Paris Oudry in 1881. Brass pommel, wood grips, with a spring steel latching arrangement on the right side. The crossguard is iron (steel) and has a riveted non-adjustable muzzle-ring. The lower quillon is a hooked "blade-breaker" type. The straight blade is steel, triple-edged T-backed and un-fullered. Blade point has been modified (see images).
Overall length is ~25"; blade length is ~20-1/8". Blade is marked in script on the back-edge (opposite the cutting edge) with the arsenal and year of manufacture; this is done in engraved cursive fashion. Overall condition is about fair to good. No scabbard.
