British Volunteer Light Dragoon Flintlock Pistol, Probin, circa late 1700s

British Volunteer Light Dragoon Flintlock Pistol, similar to the Pattern of 1759, believed circa 1775-1785, manufactured by one of the Probin surname gunsmiths (Charles, John, or Thomas) of England circa the late 1700s. Trigger-guard is marked, "D 25", presumed to be a unit number. Barrel is British proofed, barely legible but the Crown over V is obvious. Brass furniture - butt-cap, trigger-guard, and ramrod barrel.
Overall length is ~15-1/2"; barrel length is ~9-1/8"; bore/caliber is ~.670".
Fair condition overall with major flaw being stock cracks forward of the lock on both sides; ramrod is missing as is the forward barrel pin. Nonetheless a wonderful piece of history, perhaps from the American Revolution!
