British P1907 Bayonet converted to Fighting Knife

BP1907CNVFKNF1

$45.00

Interesting conversion of an original British No.1 MkIII SMLE Rifle Bayonet, Pattern 1907. Conversion appears to be Japanese in style due to the shape of the blade tip (see images). Originally manufactured by Sanderson, various British proofs, mainly Enfield, on the ricasso (see images).
Overall length is ~16-3/4"; blade length is ~11-3/4". Wood two-piece grips with "bird's head" steel pommel (missing catch release mechanism; steel guard has been modified by removing the muzzle-ring; this is typical on bayonets converted to fighting knives).
From the Estate of Russ "Rusty" Cox, character actor (The Wind and the Lion, Broken Spur, The Sacketts, Rough Riders, On the Line).
Fair condition overall.
NOTE: No scabbard.
