Imperial German [Prussian] Infantry Officer's Small Sword dating from circa 1870-1880. This style was popuular from the late 1700s through the late 1800s and were carried by army officer's, courtesans, and diplomats (this particular example appears to be infantry). Brass furniture with what appears to be silver wire wrap. Manufactured by Clemen & Jung and so stamped with their logo. Folding inner clamshell guard. Nicely etched blade with the motto, "MITT GOTT & KAISER" followed by, "U REICH" (For God and Kaiser and Reich [country]); Prussian eagle on opposite side.
Overall length is ~37-1/2"; blade length is ~32".
Good condition overall.
NOTE: No scabbard.
