Indian Firangi long sword. The name Firangi (Foreigner) was given to these swords in the 17 Century, as they were mounted with European or otherwise foreign blades, (highly valued at the time). Some blades were locally made in the European style. The blades were mounted on the Khanda style hilt usually with the long spike extending from the pommel which allows the use of the sword as a two handed sword, or perhaps more likely used as a secondary weapon such as a "skull-crusher" pommel.
This specific sword has a long, straight, 37" blade with single fuller on both sides. Blade appears unmarked except for "eyelash" marks on various locations of the blade, both sides.
Classical iron khanda hilt, heavy fighting guard, with an ~3-1/4" pommel spike.
Overall length is ~45-1/2".
NOTE: No scabbard included with this sword.
Good condition.
