These are custom-made knives special ordered by us in the Texas Bowie style. These will make great knives for both Revolutionary Texas and Civil War re-enactors. This steel will hold an edge! Overall length is ~18-1/2". Single-edged blade length is ~13-1/2" including the ~3-3/4" clipped point false-edge. Wood grip, steel guard and pommel cap, peened tang.
Caution - May be difficult to distinguish from an original. These are not period originals.
NOTE: No scabbard.

This ca. 1830 knife is one of the earliest Bowies. This popular style appears in some of the premier collections as well as in early paintings, including that of the famous Cherokee chief, "Tah-Chee", where it is prominently shown. The heavy, 8½" blade is a full 3/16" thick with nice Rosewood slab grips featuring a German silver inlaid plate, pins and wrapped pommel. Originally produced by Gravely & Weeks in Sheffield, England. The ornately fringed leather scabbard is patterned after the original.
