Gurade Saber, Ethiopa

Ethiopian national saber, known as the Gurade with high quality blade, definitely European, perhaps British. Hilt is classic Ethiopian gurade style shaped in the pattern of an "H" or exaggerated base "T"; unknown grip material; brass dome pommel cap. Blade is an unusually long 38" in a straght line from hilt to tip, or 39" considering the curve.
Nicely etched blade with panoply of arms/war trophies pattern, flanked by floral designs in the ~31" stopped fuller. Blades of this type may be associated with the Ethiopian Emperor Menelik II, the Lion of Judea (1885-1913), although this one could be earlier.
Overall length is a whopping ~43" on this example.
