US Navy Jet Pilot's Bail-Out and Survival Knife

This is the mid-1950s replacement for the huge folding pocket knife (6" blade) - used during WWII - included in the pilot's "bail-out" kit.

Grips are of stacked leather (some noted with aluminum handle) with hexagonal pommel. The first model had a 6" blade whereas the second model (post-1962) had a 5" blade; saw-back.

Scabbards were of leather with pocket for whetstone.
