This is an authentic reproduction of the "slouch" hats worn by Civil War era Union officers and occasionally enlisted men. It is 85% wool, 10% fur blend construction, with satin lining; ~5" crown with ~3" brim. Comes complete with a gold cavalry cord/tassel. Available hat colors are dark gray - appropriate for both gray and butternut uniforms; hat is actually darker gray, with a hint of brown; the blue hats are distinctly blue - not navy blue - and will be appropriate for Civil War era blue Union - and later Indian War - uniforms.
