Plug Bayonet, European - Circa 1750-1850

Original plug bayonet dating from the late 1700s to mid 1800s, with original scabbard. Overall length in scabbard is ~15-3/8"; overall length out of scabbard is ~14-1/2"; Bowie-style blade is ~9-5/16" in length with ~4" clip point and was apparently made from a file. Simple iron cross-guard with "claw-looking" finials. Grip is composed of brass pommel washer, wood tubular pommel cap, bone ferrule is sandwiched in between copper ferrules (2).
Scabbard is leather (suede-like) over wood with copper throat and drag which appear to have a gold wash.
Overall condition is good to very-good.
